you need not amend. IRS is checking all returns like yours and will correct your rebate request according to what they sent you.

That's one reason IRS is so much backlogged.

So the IRS will just correct the ~$2,000 that we are still owed without anything from me (we got nothing for one of our children)?

We really need this money so I really do not want to miss out or delay this, and I know that there was an option to edit this during the initial return.
