I am trying to file my taxes and it shows a $0 balance return. I believe I may have missed some paperwork to put in and I cannot start over.

How do I start over?

You can easily start over with the return you already have by clicking again on Federal Taxes, then Wages and Income.  If you have not yet visited, you'll see the ability to choose what you work on.  Select that.  You'll then be able to scroll through the different income topics for your entries.

If you don't see the option to choose what you work on, you'll see a list of income items you've already been through, but you can always click on the Show Me More at the end of the list.

You can do the same with the Deductions and Credits tab.

If you know what you may have missed, you can enter the description in the Find window, like W-2 or Education expenses and, hopefully, a Jump To link will appear to take you right there.

If all else fails, you can call support and they'll help you find what you need.  Here's their contact information:

If you're using TurboTax Online:

  1. Start by signing in to your account (if you aren't already). Why do I need to sign in?
  2. Click Contact in the upper-right corner of your screen.
  3. Ask your question, and then:
    • Post it to our community of experts; or
    • Talk one-on-one with a live TurboTax Expert, CPA, or enrolled agent (requires the PLUS add-on if using Federal Free Edition).
