I accidentally put in the wrong birthday for my child

I already filed my taxes and currently it’s on pending. I incorrectly inputted the wrong birthday for my dependent by a whole year. I put in 01/27/2022 instead of 01/27/2023. Should I call the IRS to get this corrected? Or wait and see if it gets rejected ?

Your return will be pending until the IRS starts accepting returns on Jan 29 and can not be changed. If your return is accepted you will get an email. If the return is rejected the e-mail will tell you what to correct and you can make changes before e-filing again. Amend to change an accepted return after you get your refund. Instructions below

Your return with an incorrect date of birth will be rejected---but not until the IRS opens and begins to accept/reject returns on January 29 or later.  Calling them will do you no good whatsoever.   Wait for the rejection, then fix it and re-file.  You cannot do anything to fix it while it is in pending on a server--and right now, your return is trapped on the server.
