I accidentally marked myself as a dependent on my last return, but haven’t been claimed since I was 18. Because of this I haven’t received either stimulus, what can I do?

You should amend your income tax returns to remove the entry where you entered that you were claimed as a dependent on someone else's return. When you file your 2020 income tax return, file it electronically and claim the Recovery Rebate Credit to get the payment and any refund as quickly as possible.

Keep in mind: You have 3 years from the date you filed your 2019 return (or 2 years after you paid the tax due, whichever is later) to file an amended return.

I wouldn't amend your 2019 tax return; it won't change anything and it won't get you the stimulus money!

In  your 2020 tax return, don't make that same mistake, and there is a 'settle up' section for the stimulus.  You will see the money owed you on Line 30 of Form 1040.
