How to see if taxes are filed or check status

How to see if taxes are filed or not. I did not want to file yet. I wanted to review only.

When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?

https://www.irs.gov/refunds           Or does your account say “Ready to Mail?”

If in fact, you did NOT e-file, now you will not be able to e-file.  You missed the October 15 deadline to e-file, so your 2018 return has to be printed, signed and mailed.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return

How to see if taxes are filed or check status

your message is confusing.   are you saying you don't know whether you have filed.  if you mistakenly e-filed more than 7 days ago, the IRS probably has a transcript of the return.  if you're due a refund you can check the refund status.   unless  you clicked on the orange transmit button, the return would not have been filed.  and even if you did it could have been rejected.   if you transmitted the return you would get two e-mails (check spam folder) 1st says submitted.  second says accepted or rejected.  if rejected you have until 10/20/19 to fix and resubmit.   if your return hasn't been filed, you can no long use efiling.  it must be mailed.   follow TT's filing instructions and send by method where you can either track it or get proof of delivery
