How to find out why refund is delayed? I filed electronically and accepted 2/22/21. IRS says being processed. Standard deduction, direct deposit. IRS phone doesn't work.

only the IRS can answer your question. even if you got through to an agent they would likely not be able to explain the delay or even give you an estimated date for you to receive your refund.  there was an article in the Chicago Tribune just the other day that reported that due to the IRS's outdated computer system, Covid, staffing issues, programming issues, etc.  there are millions of unprocessed returns.  some processing centers are actually closed and paper returns.....

@Mike9241 is absolutely correct.  Congress keeps heaping more work on the IRS, but without any additional funding.  Lots of other folks are still waiting, so please continue to be patient.  Also see:
