how to amend 2020 Illinois state return that has been refunded

I have filed by 2020 Illinois state return and have gotten the refund.  I need to amend my state return.  When I do this in Turbotax, I get a message that the 1040X is not available.  How doe this impact the amending of my state return?

 Amend will be available in TurboTax in late March.  Do not attempt to amend until the function is available. When you amend, you go through the screens in order.  First the federal screens, then the state screens.  There is no way to start with the state.  When the amend is done, you can just e-file the amended state return if the federal is not changed.

You generally must file an amended return within three years of the date you filed the original return or within two years after the date you paid the tax, whichever is later.
