How long will returns be pending

The IRS has stated that they will not start accepting e-filed returns until January 29, 2018. So if you file your return in TurboTax before January 29, we'll hold your return and submit it at that time. When will the IRS start accepting e-filed returns?

Thank u just was wondering cause I heard ppl saying they returns got accepted ..and the IRs was opening early today thank u

You are welcome! Yes, they stated they will start accepting on the 29th, but they usually grab a few up to a week before to test their systems and make sure everything is working. So there is a possibility that some may have gotten accepted already as part of the IRS testing. But they still won't be processed until after the 29th.
