How long to process additional forms?

I received a letter from the IRS asking that I provide proof of having my daughter in my custody. I provided the requested forms to prove paternity and custody at the end of February. How long does it generally take for them to process that paperwork? Will this contact me if what I sent in isn't correct?

Usually it takes up to 8 weeks to process the extra information requested, sometimes more. And in this situation many IRS offices are closed or have reduced staff so patience will be needed.
