How long does it usually take for the IRS to accept return?

It's early,  you will be waiting a while.  Even though Turbo Tax will let you efile in early January the return will just sit at Turbo Tax until the IRS opens in late January.  And you might get more tax forms in the mail you forgot about or weren't expecting.  The employers and banks, etc don't have to mail the W2 and 1099 forms until Jan 31.

Once they start it is  a day or two. No word on when they start this year. Last year the start was Jan 23.
