How long does it take to see if IRS accepted return

It can take 24-48 hours. Mine took less than 1 hour. You can check your efile status here

When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.

When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. what does it say?

It normally takes 24-48 hours but sometimes a little longer for an efiled return.

You should receive two emails from TurboTax for an efiled return. The first one will say that the efile was submitted and the second one will say whether it was accepted or rejected. If rejected, you must fix the reason for rejection before resubmitting it. After it is accepted, you can start tracking it on the IRS web site if you are getting a refund: https://www.irs.gov/refunds

For a mailed return the IRS does not acknowledge acceptance or rejection. All mailed returns are accepted. When they first start to process a mailed return, if you are getting a refund, you should be able to start tracking it on the IRS tracking web site: https://www.irs.gov/refunds
