How long does it take for the state taxes to get accepted?

Some states start processing e-filed returns at the same time as the IRS, while other don't start processing until later. Some returns remain in pending status several days after the Federal return has already been accepted. This is very common in January or early February.  Processing does not begin until January 29th for the IRS.  See this link for further information.
