How long does a amended tax return take?

IRS is not processing paper returns now.

Your return is just sitting in a trailer in the IRS processing center parking lot.

Amended returns can only be mailed.  It can take them 16 weeks or more now  for the IRS to process them.  And they only mail checks for refunds.   After 3 weeks you can track it here,

But they are not processing mailed returns right now.
