How do you tell which forms are actually part of the final return. It was simple in Windows last year with the printing and pdf backup options. Maybe Mac is different.

When I go to make a pdf, it's the whole package only, including worksheets, comparisons, etc.

Yes, its a slightly different process.  Refer to the screenshots below during the steps

  • Click File -> Print (the File tab in your upper screen next to your Apple icon in top left corner)
  • In the dialogue box that appears, switch the option under Type of forms to print from "Recommended forms & worksheets" to "Tax Return Only" and hit Continue.  (You could also switch the top box from "Print Returns for Your Records" to "Print Returns for Filing")
  • The next box that appears should be the printing dialogue box - instead of printing (of course you can print if you want) select the drop down box next to PDF and click Save to PDF.
  • Now, you can save the pdf file to your computer that just contains the short version

Thanks! The File tab in the software screen, then Save for Your Records, doesn't give you those options.
