How do I see my amend return amount?

You can see your amended return amount in your TurboTax program by logging in, selecting the tax year, and clicking "Amend" to see your Form 1040X. The amended refund or amount owed is specifically listed on Line 18 (original return refund) or Line 21 (your additional refund) of the 1040-X form. Or, Line 20 will show the amount you owe, if any.

If you are using TurboTax Online you will be able to see your amended return as follows:

  1. Sign In to your TurboTax account.
  2. Select Tax Home in the left panel of your TurboTax screen.
  3. Scroll down to the Your tax returns & documents
  4. Select 2025 and Add a State (you're not adding a state, but this lets you get back in to your return)

To print a copy of your amended tax return, Form 1040X, you can:

  1. Sign in to your TurboTax account.
  2. Select Tax Home in the left panel of your TurboTax screen.
  3. Select Tax Tools on the left-hand menu, then Print Center.
  4. Select Print, save or preview this year's return
  5. Check the boxes for your federal return (including 1040-X) and choose View or print forms.
  6. If you need to print a state amendment, the Print Center will allow you to select those forms.

You can check the status of your amended tax return, Form 1040X using this link: Where’s My Amended Return?

You will be able to check the status of your amended return about 3 weeks after you submit it. It takes about 8 to 12 weeks for your Form 1040-X to be processed.
