How do I remove a dependent on my tax return

To remove the dependent from a return that you have not filed you will do the following:
- Log in to your TurboTax Online account, or open your TurboTax CD/Download program
- Click Take me to my return
- Click on Personal Info
- Find the dependent's name that you want to remove from your return
- Click to delete.
To delete a dependent on an amended/rejected return you will do
the following:
- Log in to your TurboTax Online account, or open your TurboTax CD/Download program
- Click on Taxes
- Click on My Tax Timeline
- Look under the status of your 2016 return, and click to Amend your return/or click Fix my return
- Once in your return, you will, click on Personal Info
- Find the dependent's name that you want to remove from your return
- Click to delete.
