@ bbentz19 asked: "How do I change my payment method in how I paid Turbo Tax If I already filed?"
REVISED 3/27/2021 4:15 AM Pacific
We don't know yet what you wanted to change "from" and "to", and if your efile return was accepted or rejected.
If you've already paid your TurboTax fees and filed, in most cases you cannot change the payment method for your TurboTax fees, but there is an exception that I'll mention below if you recently efiled, and if your efiled return were to be rejected, and if you had chosen to pay your TurboTax fees out of the Federal refund. So that's a lot of "ifs."
If your efiled return has been accepted, then a TurboTax fee payment method cannot be changed.
What is the context of your question? How did you originally pay TurboTax fees, and why do you want to change it? i.e., what is the desired change "from" and "to?"
Did you choose to pay your TurboTax fees out of your Federal refund? If so, that payment method has an additional service fee of $40 ($45 for California filers.)
Has your efiled return been accepted? If you recently efiled, and if it turns out that the efile is rejected, and if you chose the option to pay the fees out of the Federal refund, I "think" you can remove that payment method at that time and then pay your TurboTax fees upfront with credit/debit card prior to resubmitting the efile.
Underneath your question it says "Free Edition Online". What did you have fees for? Did you have an add-on like PLUS Benefits?
@ bbentz19
I revised the answer above, since there is one circumstance in which one may be able to change the TurboTax fee payment method after efiling. And it depends on 2 things: the particular payment method you chose, and whether the efiled return has been accepted or rejected.
Did you recently efile? If you chose the option to pay your TurboTax fees out of the Federal refund, and if your efile return is rejected, I "think" you can remove that payment option and pay by credit/debit card prior to resubmitting the efile.
If your efiled return has been accepted, then a payment method cannot be changed.
Again, we don't know the whole context of your question, such as what you are wanting to switch your payment method "from" and "to".
