How do I amend the child tax credit? My ex told me he was going to claim and then didn't. But I already filed. Now when I go in, it says I am not eligible to claim him!

He now says to go ahead and claim him AFTER he said he was claiming him. But it won't let me amend.

Has your own original return been fully processed by the IRS?

You change information about a dependent in My Info when you amend. If no one else can claim your child make sure you say NO to the question about an agreement with another parent.
