How do I amend my 2018 taxes I just filed

i have had my federal tax accepted for 2018 but i need to amend it

At this point, you don't and you can't. The IRS will not start processing returns until Jan 28th. So you have to wait until then to see if it's accepted or rejected.

If the return is rejected, then just make your changes (DO *NOT* AMEND) and simply click the big orange TRANSMIT MY RETURNS NOW button again.

If the return is accepted, then you have to wait until the IRS processes your return completely and you have physical possession/control of your refund. Then you can file your amended return.

Nowhere. The amending capability will not be included in the program until the end of Feb or first part of march. Hopefully your e-filed return is rejected by the IRS. Then you don't need to amend anything. Just make your changes on the rejected return and resubmit it.

What do we do if our return was rejected but no longer showing up on the Turbo Tax CD. Where can I find it to correct?
