First, you need to determine if you need to amend. You can do that by following the directions below. If nothing changes, I would not amend the return and would then delete the amendment using the instructions below the steps below:
- Go to Manage your return, and choose Amend (change a filed and accepted return)--You're not going to submit it though, you'd have to mail it in anyway. Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Then go to Income>Wages and continue through until you get to that W-2, select Edit and make the changes on the corrected W-2. Then look at the tax. If there's an amount in the upper left-hand corner, then that's what you owe or are getting back. Turbo Tax will walk you through the rest of the steps to file your amended return.
If it's zero, then you don't owe any extra, and should not mail anything in. Keep the Form W-2 for your records and delete your amendment so your return transfers over right now year.
