You have to sign onto your 2017 online
account using the exact same user ID you used to create the 2017 online
account.
Close all TurboTax windows on your web browser
(including this one). Copy and paste the account recovery website
link onto a new web browser window and run the tool.
Use this TurboTax account recovery website to
get a list of all the user ID's for an email address. Run the tool
against any email addresses you may have used - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery
If none of the user ID's received will access
your 2017 account, then use the option shown in blue on the account recovery
website, "Try something else"
If you used the desktop CD/Download editions
installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's
will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does
not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.
If you didn't print, sign,
and mail it, you need to print it out ASAP, or at least download the PDF file
ASAP. Online TurboTax will shut down after October 20, and files may not be
available for a few weeks while TurboTax website undergoes a transition to
Online 2018, which opens in early December.
How long will I be able to access
my 2017 TurboTax Online return from your server?
If you haven't paid or filed yet, you
can view, edit, print, or e-file your 2017 TurboTax Online return
through October 15, 2018 (after which we close e-filing for the 2017 tax
season).
If you missed that date, we'll let you
print your 2017 return through October 30, 2018 unless you paid the 2017 Turbo
Tax PLUS, Deluxe, Premier, Self-Employed, TurboTax Live, or Expert
Services fee. In that case, you'll have access for an additional year (through
October 31 of 2019).
Tip: Paying
for PLUS (if using Free Edition/Absolute Zero), Deluxe, Premier, Self-Employed,
TurboTax Live or Expert Services gives you access to all your TurboTax Online
returns through October of the following year. Doing this every year lets you
enjoy uninterrupted access to all your TurboTax Online returns both past and
present.
