If you have a foreign address on the return the IRS mails a check.

The only way to get a tax refund from the IRS if you live in a foreign country is to receive it by mail.  The IRS will not direct deposit into a foreign bank account.

Be sure you enter your correct current address on your return.  It can take several weeks to months this year to get your refund processed.  When it is not electronic, it can take slightly longer.
