You cannot directly email your return from TurboTax. If you're trying to email a copy of your return, you'll first download and save it to your computer and then you can attach it to your email.

INCORRECT.   Actually Turbo Tax is the way you send your return electronically.   The reason why it exists is because the IRS does NOT accept personal emails.   They only accept E-filing  through approved vendors like Turbo Tax.

The IRS does not accept any information nor communicates in any way using normal/personal email.   It's either e-file through an approved third party provider or snail mail.
