Hidden fees!!!

I’ve seen a bunch of people having issues. I filed, my tax return was 292, after the “fee” it was supposed to be 272. 20 for my federal, and then 20 on my state.

HOWEVER, when I received my taxes, it was $117 because of “hidden fees”? This should have been stated up front or I would have never used these services. I see some people have received their money back to them, however I have called and called and called and have yet to get any kind of answer. After years of using turbo tax, this is the only time I’ve ever had an issue, however I cannot seem to get the help I need.

Did you use the Online version? Did you get a discount from your bank or broker or somewhere? $20 is too low to be a fee for federal or state. Where did you see $20?

I did use the online version. It’s not just me having this issue. I had a federal refund of $292, it showed it was taking $20 off and I would receive $272.

I'm curious. Who was taking the $20? If the online, simple online, version is Free, then why would any amount be taken?

Perhaps someone from TT would would come to the rescue. I have always been careful of "free" as it is usually not free, but I would like to believe that if TT is going to charge you for something additional, if you use the Free version, you would know clearing What you are paying for, and the amount you are paying for it.
