Hi. So I’ve just got my taxes done with a CPA about 3 weeks ago. I’m a Pennsylvania resident and work in NJ since October of 2021. During the year of 2021 I didn’t have taxes withheld from my pay checks for PA .
it wasn't until February of 2022 I got this fixed. Basically when I went to go file my taxes my tax person said I didn’t owe anything to PA which I was extremely confused about.
so about a week ago I went to H&R Block to have them double check and they told me that I do in fact owe Pa money and that I’d need to get credited from nj.
my question is how can I do this if I already filed my taxes ? I also just got my money from my return and I’m worried because they told me I can suffer a penalty from Pa .
i called the person I did my taxes with and he said that I don’t and will not owe anything to Pa
but to make sure I’m going to ask H&R to get me the tax credit and so forth. But they need a copy of what the first CPA did.. to which he refused to give me and now I’m blocked by him and have no way of getting in contact as well. I also physically went back and he ignored me and got me kicked out when I politely asked him for my copy which I found extremely absurd !
anuways he told me that I have to stop stressing and that he garentee a that I don’t owe anything and when I went back to H&R they told me unfortunately this can’t be resolved without the copy of what he did.
i need some help because I do not want to suffer from a huge penalty fee from my state and suffer further complications! Does anyone know what I should do? If what the first CPA is telling me if I’m facto correct ?
and let’s say I do some how get my copy back and go through with this . Will i still be able to get the credit back and fix this even tho I already filed?
thank you !
