The IRS server could be busy, suggest you try again later in the evening or early morning. Also, were there any anomalies or anything out of the ordinary that might require a mail-in form?
Or, it might be that the IRS is already having "problems" processing efiled returns; the bureaucrats running the system might be miffed about the lack of Build-Back Better monies.
Now they are looking to see if the additional child tax credit along with the 3rd stimulus payments were properly reported on tax returns. If you are expecting a large refund due to refundable tax credits, such as the Earned Income Credit, that has, in the past explained large wait times.
