I have never went through this with Turbo Tax

The IRS will not be accepting any type of 2017 tax return until January 29, 2018. Go to this IRS website for information - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/2018-tax-filing-season-begins-jan-29-tax-returns-due-april-17-help-avai...

Tax returns cannot be e-filed using the TurboTax software until the forms and schedules included in the tax return have been finalized for filing. Click on Review for a list of forms and schedules included in the tax return and the dates available.

The IRS will hold all 2017 tax returns that have a tax refund which includes EIC and/or the Additional Child Tax Credit until mid-February 2018. The IRS will release the tax refunds in late February if there are no errors on the tax return.

My return was accepted by the IRS on 1/19. Not sure what that means in regards to the "opening date" of 1/29
