The IRS has not given TurboTax any official guidance as to when stimulus payments for every taxpayer will be released. As long as you provided your direct deposit information/card information or mailing address information, you will receive the stimulus when it is released to you (as long as you otherwise qualify for it).
The IRS rolled out the "Get My Payment" tool here. According to IRS.gov, you can use the "Get My Payment" application to:
According to the IRS FAQs:
Get My Payment will display one of the following payment statuses:
1. Payment Status (one of two statuses) –
2. Need More Information – You are eligible for a payment, but we do not have your direct deposit information. You will be given the opportunity to provide your bank information once you have properly verified your identity. Direct Deposit is the fastest way to get your EIP.
3. Payment Status Not Available – We cannot determine your eligibility for a payment at this time. For example, you didn’t file either a 2018 or 2019 tax return, or you recently filed and the return has not been fully processed.
If a payment date is not provided, updates to your payment status are made no more than once per day.
I filed for my stimulus check as a non filer because I didn’t work and have any taxes to file and when I filed I provided my current address on my efile return. It wasn’t accepted and then the irs tool where my payment says my check was being mailed out April 24th and I still have not received my check. Was my current address updated with the IRS when I applied for my stimulus payment? I don’t understand why I have not gotten my check yet!
You mentioned that your non-filer return with the current address wasn't accepted. This means that when the IRS mailed your check, they mailed it to the old address they had on file. It will be returned as undeliverable. When the IRS resumes normal operations, please reach out by phone at 800 829 1040.
My stimulus payment check was mailed out and they have the correct address but at the time that I believe it was mailed the post office was returning my mail for some reason and after speaking with them they know now to deliver my mail to the sameness address the IRS has and sense they know now I received a letter stating my payment has been paid and I need to know how to make contact with them to let them know that they have the correct address or if i can just provide them with direct deposit information I tried calling the number on the letter but it is all just a recording and I need to know how to make contact with this issue.
