Hi,
I recently mailed my federal tax return along with a W-7 form to apply for an ITIN for my daughter. I printed and attached the W-7, and it was signed and certified by a CAA. I also signed the W-7 form.
However, I just realized me and my spouse forgot to sign Form 1040 before submitting it in person at IRS Tax Assistance Center.
What should I do in this case?
Should I resend the signed tax return along with the W-7 again?
Or should I wait for the IRS to contact me and return the unsigned Form 1040?
Will the IRS still process the ITIN request even if the 1040 is unsigned?
Appreciate any guidance from those who have been through something similar. Thanks!

Wait to hear from the IRS.
Ok, Should I file extension as a precautionary measure? I don't owe anything to IRS and instead I would have a refund from IRS.
An extension prolongs the time to file. You have already filed.
