I have to file and amendment to 2019 (1040x). I originally completed my 2019 taxes Turbotax 2019, but I filed through the mail. The software won't let me do an amendment because it doesn't show me as originally filing. How do I get around this?
Since you have to use the 2019 desktop editions installed on your computer, Continue the 2019 return. Go to the File section of the program and select File by Mail, then complete the File section, save the PDF of the tax return. The program now knows the tax return was filed for mailing.
Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using the Home & Business edition)
Click on Other Tax Situations
Scroll down to Other Tax Forms
On Amend a Return click the start button
