I was trying to register my account to review past years.  I think I accidentally filed my federal return. Can I stop it from being processed?

It is pretty hard to file "accidentally."  Did you go through all of the steps of the FILE section for 2019?  Did you actually click on a big orange button that said "Transmit my return now?"

If you really did that, you cannot stop it or get it back.  You would have to wait for the return to be accepted/rejected when the IRS starts accepting returns on January 27.  But I'll bet you did not really file it.

You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now".

After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.

If you did NOT click on the large Orange button to transmit the tax returns, then nothing has been filed.

When a tax return is e-filed it cannot be canceled or retrieved.
