Filed a late return. Still waiting on my status

It’s 2020 and I just filed my 2018 taxes. I mailed it on the first week of January. It is now the last week of February so about 7 weeks now. I’ve tried calling the irs number multiple times to determine the status of my return but have not been able to get anything. I’ve tried punching in as “personal taxes” instead of the normal “where’s my refund” route and still nothing. I haven’t been able to speak to a live person. What do I do? I also just filed my 2019 taxes about a week ago via e-file and so it’s still too early for that but online it says they have received it. Would my 2019 be affected by the 2018? Idk what to expect out of both of these returns.
