Using TurboTax Online, each tax return needs its own UserID/Acct to file a tax return.

If you want to prepare a tax return for another person, they need to create a New UserID/Account for their return, log in using that UserID and enter their information.

I've completed the tax return on behalf of my mother who has advanced dementia. But because there is a massive deduction for her board and care home (she can't feed herself, bathe, talk etc), shouldn't there be a place where I let the IRS/State know I'm filing it on her behalf? Otherwise, that couldn't be a deduction if she doesn't get ALL her care for daily 'living'.....

@MomJukov If you have a Power of Attorney for your mother, you can print and mail her return to the IRS with your signature and your POA info.

You can use the Full Service option, and a tax professional will file the return for you. Since it almost deadline, you would need to file an extension.

Please follow the instructions here to utilize the full service option. @KHaughian1958
