File electrically for an extension?

I tried to file for an extension this year through TurboTax desktop. I was prompted to print it out and mail it in. I thought I had been able to file one electronically in the past through TurboTax. Fortunately I was able to do it though TaxCut--it was very simple. Why does TurboTax not have this capability?

The TurboTax website for e-filing an extension request has been available since mid-March 2024 - https://turbotax.intuit.com/irs-tax-extensions/
