I filed my taxes over a month ago, they were accepted by TurboTax and sent to the IRS, I got my State Refund within a week, after 21 days of waiting for my federal refund, the Where’s my refund tool says “sorry your processing has been delayed beyond the normal time” and now it’s been over a month since I filed, why is my federal delayed?

The IRS has been severely backlogged for a long time. Many people are getting this message. TurboTax does not get any information after you file your tax return so no one at TT knows a specific reason why you are getting that message. If the IRS wants any other information from you they will let you know by letter. Meanwhile all you can do is wait patiently and watch the IRS site. The IRS is your only source of information.

I have been checking my mailbox daily in anticipation, I know TurboTax doesn’t have any information on it. Just wanted to know if anyone here knew why it could be taking so long, thanks.
