I filed on 1/28/19 and it was suppose to be deposited on 2/12/19. I have yet to see it, it's now 2/20/19. When I check where's my refund it says they can't provide any info. What is going on???
I was able to get through to the IRS yesterday. The guy I spoke with looked up my info and explained that due to the government shut down it has pushed everything back. He also explained that anyone with a EIC (earned income credit) would not be getting any funds until 2/27/19. He said if you haven't received anything after February 27th or 28th he would advise to contact them. He said if you haven't gotten an email or letter telling you why you aren't getting a refund then that's when you have to be concerned. If you have NOT gotten an email or letter then you should be in the clear. Hopefully that clears it up a little bit.
If you got that message on the website, then more than likely a letter was mailed for you to verify your Identity. And then it will be additional waiting time added.
I’m claiming kids. I have been checking the refund status and it was just saying it was still being processed, like three days ago. Now it says it can’t provide any information but when I use my wife’s ssn (filed together) it says it’s still being processed. My friend has already got his taxes and he also claimed kids. I can’t get ahold of anyone today I guess I’ll have to call Wensday like they tell you to.
I was having the same problem when checking the status of my return but my problem was I was putting in the total amount of my federal & state but your only supposed to put the total for amount for your federal.
@stewiereaper there's been alot of computer errors this year. You don't have to call Wednesday. You can try today. There just getting so many calls the system is telling you to call when it's not busy. But it's just crazy busy everyday it's pretty much luck getting through. Just keep calling
I have the same issue. My federal return was “accepted” on 1/28/19. It used to say something like “professing” when I looked it up on the IRS where’s my refund website, but now it just says it can’t find it. When I called I got an automated line that said “we cannot provide any information “ after I entered my refund details. How do I talk to an actual person to make sure it’s being processed???
@epic_fairy did you receive a letter yet? If not, call the IRS first thing in the morning at 7 on Monday. DO NOT selective the refund status option or you'll get the recording. Select option 2 personal income tax, then press 1 for form or tax history, then select 3, for all other questions, select 2 for all other questions again. It will ask for ss#, Do not enter anything, just hold. This should transfer you to a representative.
@epic_fairy If you have received a letter, then make sure you call the number provided asap to verify your ID. You must have the letter because there's a control number associated with it. After you verify, it may take up to 9 weeks to receive but keep in mind, wmr may not update for 2 weeks or not at all. The best time to get through to IRS is 7:00am on the dot!! I always go straight to a person with no waiting time. No later the 7:15am if you can to avoid long hold times.
