Entered Wore Routing Number instead of Paper and Electronic routing number.

Hi 

i done a j1 vsia over the summer working in new york. Im from ireland. I done my tax returns a few weeks ago at the same time as some other students i was with and they have got their refund already where i have not. I think it may be that i put a wire transfer routing number instead of a paper and electronic routing number. Im with Bank of America so i just copied the wrong one as they were beside each other. I checked wheres my refund and it says it was wired to my bank a week ago but ive had no contact from them and it hasn’t shown up. Any help would be be hugely appreciated.

If the IRS site Where's My Refund? shows that your refund was wired to your bank, I would advise reaching out to the bank.

Once the IRS has your return, we can't track any movement of funds from them to a bank.

If for some reason, the bank rejects the deposit, and the funds are returned to the IRS, the IRS will mail a check to the address on your tax return.
