e-Filed with Direct Deposit, it's been 50 days

I e-filed on Jan 29th (50 days as of today) with direct deposit. Married Filing Jointly - same as the last 10 years. I called the 1800 number and it just directs me to the same IRS website where I've checked my status and get the following:

Your tax return is still being processed.

A refund date will be provided when available.

I'd really appreciate to know where my tax return is, why it's taking so long and who's to blame.

When you called, if you entered refund, it will take you to an automated response.  See the following steps to get to talk to a person (hopefully)

The IRS telephone number is 1-800-829-1040, and they are available from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday thru Friday. The best time to call is early in the morning.

- The first question the automated system will ask you is to choose your language.
- Once you’ve set your language, do NOT choose Option 1 (regarding refund info). Choose option 2 for “Personal Income Tax” instead.
- Next, press 1 for “form, tax history, or payment”.
- Next, press 3 “for all other questions.”
-Next, press 2 “for all other questions.”
- When the system asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, do NOT enter anything.
-After it asks twice, you will be prompted with another menu.
-Finally, press 2 for personal or individual tax questions. The system should then transfer you to an agent.

This worked like a charm. I would never have guessed to follow that path through the system. You are a CHAMP. Thank you.

Did you figure out why it was taking so long. We’re in the same boat but can’t get ahold of anyone since they shut down live services.
