Greetings,
I am using Turbo-Tax to prepare a friend's 2019 IRS and NJ returns. A CPA prepared last year's return.
During the E-file process, I entered the AGI and a new PIN number for the return and submitted it. It was rejected because the AGI was wrong. It wasn't. I tried several more times, without success.
Any thoughts on what's going on her?
Thanks!
Bill

Note: If you filed late or amended your return, your correct 2018 AGI may not be in the system.

Note: If you mail your federal return, you will also need to mail your state return. You will not be able to e-file your state return.

it is a good idea to use a mailing service that will track it like UPS or certified mail. Then you will know the IRS received it.
"I entered the AGI and a new PIN number "
Did you put a new PIN number in the spot for the old PIN number selected last year? If so, your e-File will be REJECTED.
My 2018 return was filed late so I could not e-file. It was mailed in. When I tried to e-file my 2019 return it was rejected because the AGI does not match. After two tries and rejections I figured if the IRS has not processed my return their system does not have my 2018 AGI. So I entered zero for AGI and submitted again. This time it was accepted. So you may want to try 0 for AGI.
