I have a printout from turbotax that I have elected to pay my balance through my bank account on 4/15/2020.  Is this confirmation I have filed?  I thought I had completed all the steps.  The federal government has not withdrawn my payment.  With COVID demanding the IRS' attention, I thought perhaps it was delayed, but now that it's 2 weeks past the rescheduled filing date.  I'm very concerned.  Please help.

Did you go all the way through the File tab, through the 3 steps and hit the big orange Transmit Returns Now button?

When you efile you get back 2 emails.  The first email only confirms the transmission.  The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.

 

When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc.  What does it say?

I swore I went through all the steps, but I checked my account and opened the file and the status indicates I have not.  I have also searched my emails and I had not found the confirmation emails you mentioned.  Thank you for your help.  I was afraid of going through the steps again for fear that double the amount would eventually be withdrawn.

 

It's strange that my account also states I had not printed my return, but I definitely have.  I've been using TurboTax for many years, so I'm familiar with the whole process.  I can't believe this has happened.  And I thought the delay for the withdrawal had something to do with COVID.  I hope I am not penalized.
