Question

different refunds

I filed my taxes (state and federal) back in February. It said I owed federal and was getting a small state refund. I just logged in to my account to see what amount I owed was (I chose to have what I thought the amount due was auto drafted) to make sure I would have enough in my bank. When I logged in, it was now showing I was getting a larger state refund and a federal refund. I tried to check my status of both and when I used the amount currently showing and it couldn't pull up the number, when I used the old amount, it said I had already received. I already received a state refund (the smaller amount I initially expected). I am really confused as to why my account is now shipping such a difference in refunds. If something tax related changed, would it automatically update???

Yes, your returns may have updated if you reported Unemployment Income.

Ok. My turbo account now says I am getting a refund, but when I check the status of my refund on IRS site, it doesn't list me getting a refund. I see my scheduled payment on my account still. Everything on turbo says I've already efiled so I'm confused on if I actually owe anything or if I am getting a refund.

You can create an account on the IRS website and see your updated information. Once you create the account, you can use it to access you payment, refunds, and other tax related information and also prior years tax returns.

You can do it here: Create my IRS account
