Question

Claiming Dependents

So I filed my taxes already, my parents have not. In the tax form, "Personal Information Worksheet for the Taxpayer" There is a question,

"If you answered ’Yes’ to question 1, are you actually claimed as a dependent
on that person’s tax return?"

I accidently selected no to this question, and my parents can claim me as a dependent. Does this mean that my parents won't be able to claim me as a dependent even though I am?

Thanks in advance.

Also in my tax return I did say that someone can claim me as a dependent.

The center of page 1 of the 2020 Federal 1040 tax return should be marked:  Someone can claim you as a dependent.

You declared that someone will be claiming you as a dependent.  Your parents will be able to claim you as a dependent.
