Changing one entry

All I did was enter one what-turned-out-to-be-wrong figure (because I was estimating, waiting for an actual tax form to show up, which it finally did--late). Now that I have the actual form with the correct figure on it, I don't seem to be able to go back into Turbo Tax 2024 and correct that one figure--it behaves as though it were carved in stone. Am I missing something? Thanks.

We'd love to help you complete your tax return, but need more information. Can you please clarify your question? What are you trying to enter/change?

I entered the wrong amount for property taxes when I was filling in the “itemized deductions” part of the personal info part of TurboTax 2024. When I realized my mistake, I went back and tried to enter the correct numbers, and it simply would not let me make the change. At that point, I had not completed the form or submitted it—as far as I knew it was still a work in progress. Is there some trick I don’t know about? Thanks.

If I understand correctly, you can get into your tax return, and you want to make a change to your property tax.

If this is accurate, Yes, there is a twist in the program that you may have missed.

Select Deductions and Credits from the left sidebar.

    • You will see both
      • Mortgage Interest and Refinancing (Form 1098)
      • Property (Real Estate) Taxes
    • The natural instinct is to select Property (Real Estate) Taxes
    • However, you cannot EDIT the original post
    • Select Mortgage Interest and Refinancing (Form 1098)
    • This is what you originally posted and you can edit the property tax.

In fact there is some trick you don’t know about
