Can i do a mock return for federal 2021. I was just billed over $9000 by the IRS and I want to redo and see where it stands

The online software is only for 2022; it will not work for a "mock" 2021 return because the tax laws for 2021 and 2022 are very different.  The only way to prepare a 2021 return is to use the CD/download for 2021, which has the right forms and complies with the 2021 tax laws.

 If you need to prepare a return for 2019, 2020 or 2021 you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign,  and mail the return(s)
