Can I amend my tax return to be claimed as a dependent?

I mistakenly put on my e-file that I was not claimed as a dependent , when in fact my parents are claiming me as a dependent, How do I change that on my amendement?

if your parents e-filed before you and claimed you as a dependent it should have been impossible for you to e-file without indicating that you could be claimed.  if you filed before them then once your return is processed you will have to amend,.  an amended return must be mailed in. since you improperly claimed yourself as not being a dependent you might get a stimulus payment.  I don't know if you'll have to repay that when the IRS processes the amended return.      if you filed before your parents, in order for them to claim you they will have to mail in their return.
