Can I amend my 1040 Form to a 1040NR Form during my ID Verification process?
I Filed my taxes and realised that my 1040 is not the 1040NR that I need. I was in the US as a J-1 visa holder. I am trying to verify my ID now to the IRS. The question is if I can send them my amended 1040NR Form with all the papers they need to verify my ID?

No you cannot ... in fact you do not need to verify anything in this case since you do NOT want the form 1040 to be processed ... you want it to fail. And you do not amend a 1040NR you must file an original 1040NR. If you call to verify please tell the IRS that you filed the wrong form and they can disregard that form IF you can even get thru to anyone ... failure to verify will automatically cancel the form you filed.
To complete a 1040NR you need to go to a different site :
