Why hasn't my refund been excepted by the irs yet

Because the IRS does not even start processing e-filed returns until Jan 23, and that date could be delayed.

Thank you Carl ,I was thinking so. Someone had told me theirs was excepted already and filed the same day as I did so I was starting to worry I did something wrong maybe they miss read what they did idk but thank you very much.

THe IRS has done a couple of "test pulls", and that may be what you heard about. I NEVER recommend e-filing early. If you do and your return is one of the "test pulls" they use to find problems in their processing system, I don't want my return to be the guinea pig that gets screwed up because they still haven't got their systems working right.
