Back Owed taxes

In 2019 I was still married we filed together. This year filed separate. We owed back taxes for 2019 the IRS took my refund and not his this year which he makes way more money then I do. Can the IRS just take my taxes?

You said "WE" owed back taxes on the 2019 return ... so even if you file separately the IRS will grab both of your refunds until the debt is paid in full. If your refund paid the balance due in full before they could get the other's refund then talk to the other spouse and come to an agreement on how to make this fairer.
