Error 70001 occurs when you have two instances of TurboTax running.
For installation and software issues you can contact the TurboTax Support Phone Number
OP stated that he doesn't have multiple accounts.
After downloading and successfully installing the Home & Business version of the TurboTax software in January, I was able to create my return and have been working on it with no problems for the past 2 months. Until today. Now I'm getting this error 70001 too, and like OP I don't have multiple accounts or multiple instances of the software running on my machine.
Phone support appears to know less than even I do about this issue, and were no help. And I'm continuing to get this error when trying to open the software even after manually uninstalling, re-downloading, and re-installing.
What else do you advise?
Thank you.
I too am getting this error. It wont let me start a new return. It shuts down and restarts and then gives me this error.
Did anyone find a solution?
I was able to get back in successfully after digging around some more. Someone elsewhere posted that by going into the computer's settings and either installing or repairing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64) you can resolve the error.
