Amendment conflict?

So I’m 22 years old and I filed my original taxes as “independent”,  but then my mom told me I shouldn’t have done that and since then I have mailed my amendment forms fixing my dependency status. My question is, since my mom wants to file her taxes right now , will this delay her tax refund and screw her over until my amendment is fully processed? I’ve already paid back money that is owed with my new refund amount but im worried my moms taxes is going to be messed up for a while.

Amendment conflict?

Your mother does not need to wait for your amended return.   Your SSN is in the system for this year now.  The only way she can file her own tax return is by mail.   She has to print, sign and date it in ink and mail it in.  And...it will take longer for the IRS to process her return because mailed returns take longer than e-filed returns.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
